FWD Group chief strategy and business officer Tan Boon-Kee is leaving the Pan-Asian insurer after about four years.
A query from Bloomberg News revealed Tan’s decision to retire from FWD. She joined the insurer in early 2019 and was appointed as group chief business officer, overseeing the insurer’s mergers and acquisitions as well as strategic investment activities. Before her role at FWD, she was Deutsche Bank AG’s Asia Pacific head.
“As FWD Group has grown and evolved, from time to time we’ve restructured our group executive committee to accommodate changes and to streamline our team,” a representative from FWD told Bloomberg. “This is normal course of business, and we also see these moments as opportunities to provide career growth and leadership development to our people.”
FWD Group has not announced a replacement for Tan. Despite this loss in personnel, FWD’s march to grow its business across the region has remained optimistic. Recently, the Pan-Asian insurance giant bought a majority stake in Gibraltar BSN, one of the leading insurers in Malaysia, in a bid to further grow in the country’s market.
