My-Insurer, an insurance technology start-up in Singapore, has hired Jean-Remi Bernard (pictured) as general manager.
Bernard joins from AXA Partners Asia, where he was most recently regional chief information officer, in charge of IT services and security across seven Asian markets, a statement from My-Insurer said. He has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industries of Europe, Australia and Asia, and has a thorough understanding of building and scaling digital solutions to address business expectations.
The appointment comes after My-Insurer and fellow Singaporean fintech firm Insurance Market announced that they are teaming up to create a digital insurance advisory known as IM Life.
“I am delighted that Jean Remi has joined the My-Insurer team,” said Matthias de Ferrieres, founder and CEO of My-Insurer. “He is a seasoned insurance executive with a wealth of operational experience in the region, a strong technology background and a track record of getting things done. With Jean-Remi on-board, I’m confident that we will soon scale up our innovative distribution platform, and expand across lines of business and geography.”
“I met Matthias some years ago before he left AXA,” said Bernard. “We had several opportunities to partner thereafter and it feels natural to take up the offer to support him to make IM Life a great success.”
