Fidelity International has announced the appointment of Pierre-Emmanuel Brard as the new head of insurance solutions for the Asia-Pacific region.
Previously, Brard was a part of AIA, contributing as a key figure in the asset allocation and investment solutions team. His role involved advising on investment strategies to chief investment officers and other high-level executives within the region, encompassing markets in mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand.
Brard's professional journey also includes a notable tenure at AXA, where he held the position of chief investment officer for AXA Insurance Singapore. His responsibilities there included overseeing investment strategies and asset liability management for both the property-casualty and life divisions. Additionally, he played a significant role in enhancing the unit-linked value proposition at AXA.
Operating from Singapore, Brard will be under the direct supervision of Ghislain Perisse, global head of insurance solutions at Fidelity.
In his new capacity at Fidelity, Brard is set to collaborate with the heads of distribution across the Asia-Pacific region. His primary focus will be on devising and executing strategies aimed at fulfilling the investment needs and objectives of insurance clients.
Brard's extensive experience in the insurance sector, particularly in managing insurance balance sheets across Asian markets, is well-regarded. His academic credentials include an MSc in corporate finance and financial engineering, further underpinning his expertise in the field.
