Trade credit insurer Euler Hermes has made two appointments in the Asia-Pacific region, with Clemens Philippi joining as CEO for Euler Hermes ASEAN and Benoit Ganzmann being named CEO of Euler Hermes China.
As of August 17, Philippi is based in Singapore and is responsible for leading Euler Hermes’ business in the Southeast Asian region, including the Indonesian, Malaysian, Philippines, Singapore, Thai and Vietnamese markets. Prior to joining Euler Hermes, he was regional head of market management at
Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty.
Meanwhile, Ganzmann will begin his assignment in Shanghai on September 1. Before his appointment, he was regional risk director for Euler Hermes. He will succeed Victor Jiang who joined Allianz China General Insurance as its chief transformation officer.
The insurer said that both new chief executives will focus on customer centricity, transformation and profitability, amidst China’s Belt and Road initiative that will send sweeping changes across the Asia-Pacific region.
Both appointees will report to Holger Schaefer, head of Euler Hermes Asia-Pacific. He commented on the moves, saying: “With his wealth of experience, Clemens is a valuable addition to the leadership team as we progress our strategic growth in Singapore and key markets in Southeast Asia.
“For the China market, we will draw on Benoit’s experience in credit and risk management as well as his strong country knowledge. He will also work closely with our CPIC Euler Hermes joint venture team."
