Etiqa General Insurance has joined forces with Petotum, Southeast Asia’s pioneering pet ecosystem platform, to introduce “PAWer Insurance,” a pet insurance plan.
The plan offers a first-of-its-kind cashless admission feature at accredited veterinary clinics and a streamlined claims process for pet owners. Beyond insurance coverage, the initiative also aims to unlock the veterinary industry’s potential in Malaysia, promoting responsible pet ownership and animal welfare.
According to a news release, Etiqa will provide coverage for expenses incurred due to your pet causing injury or damage to others, with a reimbursement limit of MYR50,000. In addition, the collaboration between the insurer and Petotum streamlines the claims process, ensuring a better customer experience for pet owners and veterinary clinics seeking reimbursement for medical expenses.
As part of the collaboration, Petotum, the technology partner, has integrated its advanced platform with Etiqa’s insurance solutions, making it easier for pet owners to obtain coverage. Both Etiqa and Petotum also encouraged veterinary clinics to register as accredited veterinary clinics with the latter to further streamline the pet healthcare process and reinforce responsible pet ownership practices.
“By leveraging on our combined expertise, Etiqa General Insurance aims to offer comprehensive insurance products that protects what matters most to pet owners, combined with seamless customer experience. Our collaboration with Petotum represents a significant leap in innovation within the insurance industry and sets a new standard for convenience,” Etiqa General Insurance CEO Fukhairudin Mohd Yusof said.
Elsewhere for the insurance group, a recent study from Etiqa Singapore highlighted that nearly half of Gen Zs and millennials are worried that their salaries are inadequate against the backdrop of the higher cost-of-living and worsening inflation.
