Ed has appointed Marcus Taylor as head of reinsurance for its Asia-Pacific division, based in Singapore.
Taylor will begin in his new role later this year, and he will report to Kieran Angelini-Hurll, CEO for reinsurance and Stephen Britten, CEO for Asia-Pacific.
With almost two decades of re/insurance industry experience, Taylor joins Ed from
IAG, where he was most recently senior manager for international reinsurance. He also served as CEO for the company’s Singapore and Labuan operations. He contributed to several high-level placements for the group and worked closely with underwriters to develop profitable reinsurance structures. Prior to
IAG, he held several reinsurance roles at
Aon, where he began his career.
“There is a growing recognition in markets across the Asia-Pac region that the status quo has become stale and there are now more efficient and effective ways to do business,” Britten commented on the appointment.
“Marcus is the ideal person to lead the expansion of our Asia Pacific reinsurance treaty proposition and I am certain that new and existing clients will swiftly benefit from his expertise.”
