Reinsurance, wholesale, and specialty brokerage Ed has appointed Tommy Co as executive director of its treaty and facultative team for Asia-Pacific.
The appointment is effective immediately, and Co will be based in the firm’s Singapore office.
In his new role, Co will lead the team in delivering solutions to regional clients, as well as identifying new business opportunities. He brings 35 years of experience in the re/insurance industry.
Co joins from ERGO Insurance Singapore where he was chief underwriting officer. Before that, he held a number underwriting and reinsurance roles at Pioneer Insurance Philippines, after having worked for 21 years at Munich Re in various reinsurance and primary insurance roles, including head of property facultative for Southeast Asia.
“Tommy’s deep understanding of the distinct markets across Southeast Asia means we’ll be able to more effectively push out our fresh take on broking right across the region,” said Stephen Britten, Ed’s CEO for Asia-Pacific. “Our clients are already benefiting from his insights and expertise.
