Global claims management giant Crawford & Company has set up a new office in Japan, with the launch of Crawford & Company Japan KK.
In a statement, the firm said that its new office, located in central Tokyo, will have an “experienced team of adjusters” with the capability to handle “large and complex claims – including property, business interruption, liability, recall, and cyber.”
Heading-up the firm’s Japanese business as managing director is industry veteran Mamoru Tanouchi (pictured), who will report to Crawford’s president for Asia, Veronica Grigg. In his new role, Tanouchi will be responsible for leading the development of Crawford’s Japan business, oversee operational activities, and supervise and lead on large and complex claims.
Tanouchi has more than 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry in Japan and United States, with leadership stints at Japanese insurer Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance and international loss adjusting firm McLarens.
“We are thrilled to announce the launch of Crawford & Company Japan KK as part of our continued dedication to the region,” said Grigg. “Tanouchi-san is a well-established industry leader with a wealth of experience within the Japanese market and we are delighted to have him lead our operation in Japan.”
