CNA Hardy has announced its continued expansion in Asia after it was granted an enhanced licence to do business in Labuan, Malaysia.
According to Rob Hardy, principal officer in Asia for the Lloyd’s specialist insurer, having operations in a financial centre such as Labuan will allow the firm to lay solid foundations for its relationships with clients and producers in the region.
“Our immediate focus in Malaysia will be on the same classes of business we offer through our Singapore office. These are: property D&F and treaty, construction, marine, power generation, healthcare, financial lines, and casualty,” Hardy said. “We will also look to develop new lines of business as our experience in the market deepens.”
Meanwhile, Dave Brosnan, chief executive officer of CNA Hardy hailed Asia as a strategic market to expand in and expressed delight at business developments in the region.
“We have been part of the Lloyd’s China platform since 2016 and last year saw us add new products and capabilities to our hub in Singapore including healthcare, life science, and financial lines while attracting significant talent to the organisation across both new and existing lines as well as claims,” Brosnan said.
