Global insurance-focused law firm Clyde & Co has announced the appointment of Fei Kwok (pictured) as head of banking and finance for the Greater China region.
Kwok’s experience includes advising on asset and project finance, with a special focus on transport and energy projects such as oil and gas, power and petrochemicals, a statement from Clyde & Co said. For the past 13 years, Kwok has been predominantly based in Shanghai and Beijing. Prior to that, she was based in London for over a decade.
Born in Beijing, Kwok graduated from Middlesex University (London) and was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales. She is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English.
“We are pleased to have Fei joining our Greater China team, where she’ll play an important role in strengthening our ties to key mainland enterprises,” said Simon McConnell, Hong Kong managing partner of Clyde & Co.
According to the law firm, Kwok’s appointment is part of its strategic objective to capitalise on the growth potential of banking and finance, particularly in light of the Belt & Road Initiative (BRI) and the Greater Bay Area (GBA) agenda.
“We envisage the Belt & Road Initiative will continue to provide a significant client pipeline,” McConnell added.
