Property and casualty insurance firm
Chubb has announced the creation of a new commercial division dedicated to personal lines insurance in Singapore.
The new division comprises several lines of business including personal risk services (PRS), residential insurance, and specialty protection.
The firm has appointed Bernard Tan as division head of personal lines. With over 10 years of experience at the firm, Tan will manage and drive the strategic growth of Chubb’s personal lines portfolio across multiple distribution channels.
Tan first joined Chubb as a financial lines underwriter. He was responsible for the management and expansion of Chubb’s High Net Worth insurance. In his new role, he will report directly to
Adam Clifford, Chubb’s country president in Singapore.
Tan will also work alongside Regina Baxter, who is appointed as the PRS manager and regional fine arts specialist. Baxter will oversee the management and the performance of the PRS portfolio and will be responsible for all the underwriting and market-facing functions.
Like Tan, Baxter jumped aboard Chubb as an underwriter until she was appointed as the region’s fine arts specialist in 2016 for her ability to combine underwriting with knowledge in fine arts.
Chubb’s regional head of personal lines Edward Ler said given their stellar qualifications, Tan and Baxter are well positioned to take the helm of the new personal lines division.
“We are committed to our promise of underwriting as well as service excellence and I am confident that with talented leadership like Bernard and Regina, Chubb will be able to tap on the many opportunities available and bring our personal lines business to the next stage of strategic growth,” he said.
