Global property and casualty (P&C) insurance company Chubb is merging its three Korean subsidiaries under the Lina brand to streamline operations and enhance brand synergy.
According to a Korea Herald report, Ace American Fire and Marine Insurance Company Korea, Chubb’s general insurance arm in Korea, confirmed that it will rebrand as Lina General Insurance. This move aligns it with Chubb Korea’s other affiliates, Lina Life Insurance and Lina One.
“The unified ‘Lina’ brand embodies Chubb’s commitment to integrating the strengths and capabilities of the three companies, enhancing collaboration and delivering products and services that prioritise customers’ needs in this highly personalised era,” said Lina General Insurance, as reported by Korea Herald.
Lina Life announced the rebranding on Thursday, introducing the new slogan, “Spotlight on You,” which underscores the company’s focus on addressing various aspects of customers’ lives, according to the life insurer.
The merger follows the appointment of Kate Burke as head of international personal lines (IPL) for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, where she oversees the strategic development of auto, residential, specialty, and high-net-worth business lines across the region.
Burke, based in Singapore, reports to Ben Howell, head of consumer for APAC, and John Thompson, division president for international personal lines.
With more than 17 years of industry experience, Burke has held various roles in travel insurance, including claims, customer service, and business development, before joining Chubb in 2017 as regional portfolio manager for travel in APAC. She later transitioned to Chubb’s Singapore operations, serving as head of travel and then division head of IPL.
In 2021, Burke was appointed head of residential, personal risk solutions, and specialty personal lines for APAC, where she has been instrumental in driving business growth and forming strategic partnerships throughout the region.
“With a track record of leading high-performing teams, Kate’s keen customer focus and proven ability to set and execute growth strategies will help us capture significant personal lines opportunities across our Asia Pacific markets,” Howell said. “Her appointment demonstrates Chubb’s strong pipeline of senior talent and reflects our continued commitment to developing and promoting from within the organisation.”
