Malaysian telecommunications company U Mobile has partnered with Chubb Insurance to offer a range of general insurance products.
The insurance products will be available to both subscribers and non-subscribers of the telecoms firm, it said in a statement. Beginning the third quarter of 2019, Chubb’s micro personal accident insurance will be available from as little as MYR6 (US$1.44). This, as well as several other travel and motor insurance products, will be sold through the telco’s soon-to-be-launched GoPayz e-wallet.
According to U Mobile CEO Wong Heang Tuck, the partnership shows the companies’ commitment to enhance their digital service offering.
“Chubb Insurance is the perfect general insurance partner, as they share our vision of enabling through innovation,” he said.
“With Chubb’s extensive product offerings coupled with U Mobile’s digital innovation, customers will be able to purchase relevant and affordable insurance solutions according to their purchase preferences,” said Chubb Insurance Malaysia country president Steve Crouch. “We aim to forge a close partnership with U Mobile to maximise value and deliver Chubb’s brand promise of excellence to all customers and stakeholders in Malaysia.”
The companies added that in addition to personal accident and travel insurance, motor and mobile device insurance products will be available on the GoPayz platform before the end of the year.
