Global P&C insurance company Chubb has announced the appointment of Kate Burke as head of international personal lines (IPL) for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.
Burke’s responsibilities include overseeing the strategic growth of Chubb’s auto, residential, specialty, and high net worth business lines throughout its APAC operations.
Burke is in Singapore and reports to Ben Howell, head of consumer for APAC, with an additional reporting line to John Thompson, division president for international personal lines.
With over 17 years of industry experience, Burke spent a decade in travel insurance across various functions, including claims, customer service, and business development, before joining Chubb in 2017 as regional portfolio manager for travel in APAC.
Subsequently, she moved to Chubb’s Singapore operations, serving as head of travel and then division head of IPL.
In 2021, Burke was appointed head of residential, personal risk solutions, and specialty personal lines for APAC, where she has helped to drive business growth and foster strategic partnerships throughout the region.
“With a track record of leading high-performing teams, Kate’s keen customer focus and proven ability to set and execute growth strategies will help us capture significant personal lines opportunities across our Asia Pacific markets,” Howell said. “Her appointment demonstrates Chubb’s strong pipeline of senior talent and reflects our continued commitment to developing and promoting from within the organisation.”
Chubb recently teamed up with a digital financial services platform to boost consumer protection across the Southeast Asian region.
