International property and casualty insurer Chubb has promoted Titus Samuel to head of power and utilities for the Asian region.

Samuel will be based in the firm’s Singapore office and will report to Mick Peacock, head of power and energy for Asia-Pacific.

Commenting on the promotion, Peacock said: “Power Generation continues to be a pivotal component of our Technical Lines portfolio. Titus has extensive technical capabilities and experience in the energy industry as well as success in building strong relationships with clients and brokers. He will be an invaluable asset as we continue to drive and grow our Power Gen portfolio in Asia.”

Prior to the promotion, Samuel was power risk engineer for Asia, a role he held for seven years. A mechanical engineer by education, he was involved in risk management working on numerous operational facilities and construction projects in the power generation, oil & gas, and petrochemical industries in the Asia-Pacific region. Before joining the insurance industry, he worked for seven years at an electric power plant run by Alstrom Power Generation.
