China Life Insurance has announced the resignation of Zhao Lijun as person in charge of finance (equivalent to chief financial officer).
The resignation, which took effect on July 08, was due to an adjustment in the management division, a statement from China Life said.
“[China Life] would like to express its gratitude to Mr Zhao Lijun for his contribution to the company during his tenure of service as the person in charge of finance,” the insurer added.
Meanwhile, Zhao Peng was nominated as the next person in charge of finance during a meeting of China Life’s board. The Beijing Bureau of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission (CBIRC) has given its approval to Zhao’s nomination.
Zhao, 47, was appointed vice president at China Life in March 2018. He joined China Life in 2003 and held various positions until he was promoted to general manager of the Zhejiang branch in 2015. In 2017, he was named assistant to the president.
He obtained his bachelor’s degree in economics, major in actuarial science at the Hunan College of Finance and Economics. He also holds a master’s degree in economics from the Central University of Finance and Economics and an MBA from Tsinghua University.
