Catalina Holdings, a provider of capital management and risk transfer solutions to the global P&C insurance sector, has appointed two new CEOs as part of its continued effort to bolster its global business. Loh Wei-Lyn has taken over as CEO of Asia and Luann Petrellis has assumed the CEO role in the US.
Loh took over as Asia CEO on May 16, following Martin Kauer’s retirement. She has held various leadership roles in Catalina’s Asia Capital Re, having served as chief operating officer prior to her latest appointment. As CEO in Asia, Loh is set to seek new opportunities to expand Catalina’s presence in the region, working closely with APAC head for global distribution Malcolm Steingold.
“Asia is a key growth region for Catalina, and I am privileged to be able lead an experienced and competent team in Singapore with Malcolm to chart the path for Catalina Asia as a leading retrospective transactions provider for Asia, Middle East and Australasia,” said Loh.
Petrellis, meanwhile, assumed the US CEO role from Amy Gallent on July 11. Before joining Catalina, she was an independent industry advisor and consultant, specialising in insurance restructuring legislation. In addition to this, Petrellis served as managing director of PwC in Philadephia.
“I am excited to be joining Catalina and already feel part of the team. Catalina has an exciting future, and I am thrilled to be a part of the Group,” said Petrellis. “My recent experience in the changing face of regulation and legislation in the US will bring new opportunities for Catalina, ones that I hope we can work with cedent partners on together.”
