Asia Capital Reinsurance (ACR) Group has appointed Hue Yann Wei as CEO of its Malaysian subsidiary. Hue succeeded founding CEO A.K. Wong, who retired on December 31, 2017.
Prior to her promotion to CEO, Hue was head of underwriting for ACR Malaysia. She joined the company in 2011 from
Munich Re Malaysia, where she was deputy CEO. She has around 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry.
“We are pleased that ACR Malaysia is able to have a smooth leadership transition process,” said Bobby Heerasing, chief executive of Asia Capital Reinsurance. “As founding CEO, Mr Wong has firmly entrenched ACR Malaysia as a well reputed reinsurer among its clients. I am confident that Ms Hue, who has played a key role in building ACR Malaysia’s underwriting business since she joined the company in 2011, will continue to develop ACR Malaysia as a reliable and trusted partner for ACR’s clients in Malaysia and Brunei as well as the rest of Asia.”
ACR Malaysia was launched in 2007 as an independent non-life reinsurance company serving the Malaysian market. It later expanded to cover Brunei, and it also manages two capacity pools for agriculture and catastrophe risks across Asia.
