Argenta Underwriting Asia (AUA) has expanded its Asia-Pacific underwriting team with the hiring of Simon Wilmot-Smith who will write political violence and terrorism business.
Based in the firm’s Singapore office, Wilmot-Smith will report to AUA’s principal underwriter in Singapore, Scott Sykes.
“Simon’s experience, expertise, relationships and extensive knowledge of the Asia-Pacific region enhances the range of insurance and reinsurance solutions we are able to offer to the brokers and customers who have been so supportive of our development in the region,” said Sykes. “I look forward to welcoming Simon to the team.”
Wilmot-Smith is a veteran of the Lloyd’s market, and has spent the past 12 years working in Asia-Pacific for major insurance underwriting firms.
