Aon has appointed Richard Jones as executive chairman of its Asian reinsurance solutions business. He joins from rival brokerage Guy Carpenter, where he spent 31 years, most recently as chairman of Asia-Pacific.
In his new role, Jones will be in charge of business development and supporting clients across the Asia region, which contains many high-growth markets. He has spent the past 17 years working in Asia-Pacific.
Jones will join Aon in May 2019, and will be based in Singapore. He will report to George Attard, CEO of reinsurance solutions, Asia.
“Richard is a respected leader in the industry and his insight, experience, and counsel will enhance our capabilities in the region,” Attard said. “His depth of understanding of the Asia reinsurance sector will assist our firm in delivering the exceptional level of service our clients demand.”
