Global insurance provider Allied World Asia-Pacific has announced the appointment of Ramesh Sivanathan as vice president. Based in Kuala Lumpur, he will also be taking on the role of country manager of Malaysia.
Sivanathan has close to 30 years of experience in the industry, having begun his career in loss adjusting, later shifting to broking and underwriting in financial lines. He was previously a director of business development for Federal Insurance’s Labuan branch. Most recently, he was Asia RI manager for financial lines at
AIG Singapore.
Michael Garrison, senior vice president and head of insurance for Asia-Pacific, said: “Malaysia is a market with tremendous potential, and Ramesh’s arrival will allow us to put into action our growth plans for the country. We will be building out a strong presence on the ground, and will actively look to diversify our offering.”
