International insurance giant Allianz has appointed a new head of corporate development for the Asia-Pacific region.
Julia Zheng Kuik will be responsible for developing Allianz’s business agenda in the Asia-Pacific markets, focusing on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures, and new partnerships.
She will report to Asia-Pacific CEO
George Sartorel and gain a seat on Allianz’s regional executive board, which is tasked to formulate and execute the mega financial group’s Asian growth strategy.

Kuik will be in charge of a team of internal and external resources that will provide end-to-end management of M&A activities, along with strengthening Allianz’s relationships with the wider regional business community.
Backed by 12 years’ experience in M&A execution in the financial services industry, Kuik joins Allianz from Insurance Australia Group (
IAG), where she was most recently head of business development for Asia.
Before that, she was executive director at Goldman Sachs based in both New York and Hong Kong, advising clients across the insurance, asset management, and financial technology sectors.
