Allianz has appointed Anusha Thavarajah (pictured) as CEO for its life and health business in Asia-Pacific.
In her new role, Thavarajah will be responsible for the P&L and functional development of Allianz’s life and health businesses in Asia and for meeting its long-term strategic priorities in the region.
Based in Singapore, she will report to Allianz Asia-Pacific regional CEO Solmaz Altin, and serve as a member of the Allianz Asia-Pacific executive board. Her starting date, expected to be in the fourth quarter of 2019, will be announced in due course, the insurer said in a statement.

We look forward to welcoming her aboard.”
Thavarajah joins Allianz from AIA Malaysia, where she was most recently its CEO. She has almost 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry, having served in various senior leadership roles in the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, and Malaysia. She was also the first woman elected as president of the Life Insurance Association of Malaysia.
