AIA Singapore has appointed Richard Wyber (pictured) as chief partnership distribution officer, effective June 01 and subject to regulatory approval.
In his new role, Wyber will drive the company’s in-branch sales expertise and point-of-sale technology, as well as the effective promotion of AIA’s comprehensive range of products and services to customers.
Wyber was previously head of AIA Singapore’s Vitality programme, where he helped establish the company’s healthcare business model and led its health and wellness efforts to help the public live healthier, longer, and better lives. Under his stewardship, AIA Singapore forged strategic partnerships and developed AIA Vitality into an award-winning, market-leading wellness programme, the company said in a statement.
A 25-year financial services veteran, Wyber took on numerous leadership roles including head of accident and health at AIA Singapore, followed by spending several years with AIA Group partnership distribution. At AIA Group, he and his team were responsible for securing the exclusive AIA-Citibank bancassurance partnership across Asia-Pacific.
Outside of AIA, Wyber also led the Life Insurance Association (LIA) working group in Singapore to implement recommendations put forth by the Health Insurance Task Force in October 2016, through collaborations with multiple stakeholders including government agencies, life insurers, and healthcare providers.
