AIA Singapore has announced key leadership changes effective from late November and early December 2023.
Irma Hadikusuma (pictured above, left) will take on the role of chief marketing and proposition officer from Dec. 1, while Peter Lee (pictured above, middle) will assume the position of chief technology officer starting Nov. 20. Additionally, Melita Teo (pictured above, right), currently serving as chief customer and digital officer, is set to become the chief executive officer designate at AIA Philippines from Dec. 1.
Hadikusuma, in her new role, will oversee the integration of AIA Singapore’s marketing and proposition functions. This strategic move aims to strengthen the company’s customer-focused agenda and align its brand and customer value propositions with its health and wealth strategy.
Hadikusuma is a seasoned professional with over two decades in the insurance industry and has previously held pivotal roles in product development and business strategy at AIA. Her academic background includes a first-class honours degree in actuarial science from Nanyang Technological University and a fellowship in actuarial science.
Lee, as the incoming CTO, will be tasked with developing advanced technology strategies to support AIA Singapore's vision and business priorities. His focus will be on enhancing customer experience through technology and aligning the company's tech solutions with Singapore's Smart Nation goals.
In this role, he brings extensive experience from his previous leadership roles in technology and operations at various global insurance companies. He holds a bachelor of science in electrical engineering and economics from Brown University.
Teo, with over 22 years at AIA Singapore, will transition to her new role as CEO at AIA Philippines. In her current role, Teo has played a significant role in enhancing AIA Singapore's customer engagement and digital capabilities. Her extensive experience and understanding of customer needs, combined with her expertise in digital transformation and healthcare, are expected to contribute significantly to the growth and success of AIA Philippines.
In a news release, AIA Singapore Wong Sze Keed thanked Teo for her leadership and service to the firm, as well as wished her success in her new role.
“The combined marketing and proposition role will further energise our brand and customer value proposition. Irma’s appointment is testament to her achievements in advancing our commitment to customers through curating a compelling suite of innovative solutions which sets AIA Singapore apart. Her impeccable leadership track record and commitment to excellence will be key in accelerating AIA Singapore’s customer and growth agenda,” Wong said.
“I am also delighted to welcome Peter on board as our new chief technology officer. Peter is a highly respected and experienced leader with over 30 years of experience in the insurance and finance industry, where he has led a series of digital transformation projects in Asia and Africa across infrastructure, application, and service delivery. I am confident that Peter will be a strong addition to our management team and will continue to drive transformation for AIA Singapore’s digitalisation agenda. More importantly, with both Peter and Irma’s appointments, I’m confident that AIA Singapore will continue to strengthen our focus on customer excellence and the way we use technology across our organisation to deliver the best service experience,” Wong said.
Elsewhere for the insurance group, AIA has also announced its financial results for the third quarter ending on September 30.
