The Actuarial Society of Hong Kong (ASHK) will hold the inaugural Hong Kong Actuarial Summit 2019 on November 21-22, with the theme “Embracing the New Future”.
The summit, which will be held at the Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel, will have its opening remarks delivered by Paul Chan Mo-po, Financial Secretary of Hong Kong SAR, while Dr Moses Cheng Mo-chi, chairman of the Insurance Authority, will give the welcome address.
According to a statement by AHSK, the summit will bring together experts in the fields of life, health and general insurance, pension, innovation and risk management. It aims to provide participants with the opportunity to meet with key industry stakeholders for resource, connection and an exchange on topics close to the heart of Hong Kong. Officers from key insurance/financial institutions, appointed actuaries, government bodies, general practitioners, and members of the media are welcome to attend.
The two-day event will feature plenary sessions on: promoting Hong Kong as a re/insurance centre, a C-suite panel, embracing the digital world through virtual financial institutions, and professionalism, the announcement said. Also, seven innovation and technology companies will demonstrate their latest developments in financial and insurance technology.
“With the success of the Asian Actuarial Conference hosted in Hong Kong last year, the organising committee is working hard to enable insightful discussions among senior stakeholders in the insurance and wealth industries at this brand new memorable event in Hong Kong in 2019,” said Billy Wong, chairperson of the Hong Kong Actuarial Summit organising committee.
