Lei Yu

Lei Yu became the Chief Executive Officer for QBE North Asia and Regional Head of Distribution for Asia in December 2018. QBE is a general insurance and reinsurance company listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) and has been present in Asia for more than 100 years.

Lei is a business leader who is passionate about building customer advocacy through innovation and technology. She is the executive sponsor to business digital transformation and customer development initiatives at QBE, and leads the design of the QBE E2E customer journey. She is responsible for shaping and driving distribution and partnership strategy to accelerate the company’s growth ambitions.  

Before joining QBE, Lei served as the Hong Kong and Macau Chief Executive Officer for Marsh, a leading insurance broker where she also held various leadership positions in New York, Singapore and Shanghai.

Lei has been involved in promoting Hong Kong as the professional services centre for the Belt and Road Initiative, and served as a member of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council Belt and Road Committee. She is currently actively involved in the Hong Kong insurance industry’s initiatives for development in the Greater Bay Area.
