Several key leadership appointments have been announced across the insurance sector, with The Swedish Club, Access Insurance, and Global Parametrics strengthening their executive teams.
Emilia Dean has been appointed as new legal director of The Swedish Club, where she will oversee the organisation’s legal matters and corporate governance and serve as corporate secretary. She will be based at the Club’s headquarters in Gothenburg.
Dean joins from Worldline, where she was head of legal (Nordics), managing commercial, corporate and regulatory affairs. With over 20 years of experience in legal roles at regulated international organisations, including Western Union and Trine, she began her career at Bird & Bird LLP in London.
Thoman Nordberg, managing director of the Club, said: “Emilia brings a wealth of experience to the Club, and we’re delighted to have her on board. Her international expertise and deep understanding of the rapidly changing regulatory environment will be a great asset to The Club.”
Access Insurance, a specialist charity and church insurance broker, has appointed Jamie Duncan (pictured above, left) as its new finance director. He succeeds David Price, who held the position for over 12 years.
Duncan joins from RISQ, where he was chief financial officer. His career spans more than 20 years, with experience in finance leadership roles at trading, investment management and foreign exchange firms.
Access Insurance was acquired by Benefact Group in early 2024 and has outlined plans to expand its presence in the UK charity market.
“[Duncan’s] appointment will support our plans to grow the business further with a combination of exciting new acquisitions and system upgrades to further enhance the customer journey,” said Simon Hickman, CEO of Access Insurance.
Global Parametrics, a CelsiusPro Group company, has appointed Ola Jacob (pictured above, right) as London Market business development director. In this role, he will lead the expansion of the group’s parametric solutions through the London market, supporting both private- and public-sector clients in strengthening their climate resilience.
Jacob brings more than 13 years of experience in the London Market. He joins from Descartes Underwriting, where he was UK and Ireland business development director for parametric solutions. He has also held roles as senior broker at Gallagher and broker success manager at FloodFlash.
Mark Rueegg, CEO of CelsiusPro Group, said: “Ola's experience and broad network across the London Market align perfectly with our mission to continue taking parametrics to centre stage and make parametric risk transfer a key component of risk management strategies.”
