International specialty re/insurance managing general agent (MGA) Rokstone has appointed Henry Hogarth (pictured above) as senior underwriter in its direct and facultative (D&F) property team.
This appointment brings the team to nine members as the company continues its expansion in the global D&F property market.
Hogarth joins Rokstone from Castel MGA, where he served as head of Castel facultative for four years. With more than 15 years of experience in reinsurance, his expertise spans property, power, and onshore energy.
Over the past year, Rokstone has also secured multi-year delegated authority agreements with leading A-rated insurers such as Allianz, Aviva, and Munich Re. The D&F team underwrites over US$300 million in gross written premiums (GWP) annually across global property business.
James Potter, CEO of Rokstone, stated that the addition of Hogarth reinforces the team's extensive experience, which now totals over 150 years of combined expertise.
“We intend to ensure it stays that way. Attracting and investing in top talent is what sets us apart, and Henry brings with him the relationships and expertise we need as we continue to build and strengthen our worldwide D&F book,” Potter said.
Hogarth said that Rokstone has distinguished itself in the market in recent years and emphasized the company’s focus.
“In the last few years, we have seen Rokstone steam ahead of their competitors, so I am incredibly excited to now be part of the team. Rokstone has a business model that works – attract talent, give them the resources and backing they need and the autonomy to thrive. And the D&F team is certainly thriving, writing business on multiple papers, in every territory and across every occupancy,” Hogarth said.
