Global insurance brokerage Lockton has announced the appointment of Michael Harrow as the new head of corporate risk.
Harrow (pictured) will operate from the Auckland office, reporting to Craig Buckle, the chief executive officer of Lockton New Zealand. Buckle, who transitioned to CEO in January, formerly held the position that Harrow will now occupy.
Harrow’s recruitment is aimed at bolstering Lockton’s growth objectives in New Zealand. In his role as the leader of the corporate risk team, he will spearhead efforts to expand the company’s operations and refine its client-centric approach.
Bringing more than 28 years of industry experience, Harrow has occupied several high-level positions, including his recent role at ICIB. There, he managed the overhaul and integration efforts of its Auckland branch, playing a pivotal role in the merger with BrokerWeb in late 2022.
Buckle said that Harrow's experience and track record make him an invaluable addition to the team.
“Throughout his career, Mike has excelled in the New Zealand insurance market by building close relationships with clients and delivering solutions for local and multinational organisations. We are delighted to welcome him to our team to strengthen our corporate risk offering,” Buckle said. “Lockton is committed to its strategic objectives, continuing its strong growth in New Zealand and delivering exceptional support to local customers and stakeholders.”
“My key priority for each day is to work openly and collaboratively,” Harrow said. “Throughout my career, I have focused on the importance of relationships. I am excited to bring these relationships to Lockton, not just with insurers, but across scopes of service, including claims, risk management, services, and education.”
