Konsileo, a chartered insurance brokerage, has introduced Konsileo Academy.

Part of the company’s vision to nurture “the happiest, best rewarded, and most professional” insurance brokers in the industry, Konsileo Academy aligns with the firm’s commitment to advancing professional development and peer collaboration.

Konsileo Academy’s curriculum is structured around four key areas: insurance knowledge, business development, compliance, and operational and personal effectiveness. The Academy will deliver its learning programmes through an online platform engineered by Zing365.

Additionally, Konsileo Academy features hands-on training via three-month mentoring schemes. These are guided by a Konsileo broker who specialises in areas such as business development and digital lead generation.

The learning model at Konsileo Academy reflects the company’s non-hierarchical approach, which allows brokers to operate without traditional line managers but with access to coaching. Brokers at Konsileo collaboratively decide on client projects, leveraging expertise as needed, and manage commission sharing using a virtual team contracting platform.

Allan Rhodes, head of organisational development at Konsileo, noted: “We observed that a lot of brokers within the community were reaching out to others for advice. Konsileo Academy will give a structure and rhythm to these interactions. It formalises and accelerates the exchange of learning that is already happening within the organisation.

“What this isn’t is a tick-box exercise for meeting annual CPD (continuing professional development) requirements by sitting passively through training courses. We invite brokers to take the lead on their own learning journeys by defining and clarifying the challenges they’re facing, and the opportunities they want to take advantage of.

“In turn, we know that an organisation that embraces constant learning will become stronger, which helps Konsileo deliver on its promise to clients to protect their business properly.”

Since its inception in 2017, Konsileo has expanded to employ more than 150 people handling £50 million in gross written premium.
