Ecclesiastical Insurance Group is the fourth biggest corporate giver to charity in the UK, according to the recently published 11th edition of ‘”The Guide to UK Company Giving.”
The specialist insurer was the most charitable insurer and finished higher in the rankings than global giants such as HSBC, Marks and Spencer Group and Goldman Sachs International.
Ecclesiastical marked a major milestone in June 2016 when it hit its target of donating £50 million to good causes in three years.
The total amount given to good causes has since risen to more than £67 million and has helped over 3,000 organisations, according to Hews. He said the company is now aiming to donate £100 million to charity by 2020.
“Our charitable ownership drives our ethos and values as a trusted, specialist insurer,” Hews said.
“Of course it’s not just about giving money. We have a wealth of specialist knowledge and expertise that we share with not-for-profit organisations as well as practical skills.”
