Global insurer XL Catlin will create a private clients team that will cater to clients who are vastly wealthy.
The new unit will provide a range of specialty tailored coverages for high net worth (HNW) and ultra-high net worth clients (UHNW), the insurer said.
Leading the team will be Simon Mobey, who will join XL Catlin as global head of private clients on January 2017. The 30-year industry veteran joins from
Chubb Insurance and recently served as international private clients manager.
Also joining the team are 20-year industry executives Ann Owen, the new private clients chief underwriting officer, and Chris Hawkes, who has been named private clients claims manager.
Owens comes from
AIG, where she last served as head of personal property and private client group for the Europe, the Middle East and Africa regions.
Hawkes also comes from AIG and brings over two decades of experience in the personal lines business and claims service for HNW individuals.
Neil Robertson, XL Catlin global specialty chief executive, said that the company is “well-positioned to provide a meaningful and differentiated offering” for HNW and UHNW clients.
“HNW and UHNW individuals expect the highest levels of service, and I believe Simon, Ann and Chris, who are recognised by the market to be leaders in their field, have exactly the right credentials to develop and deliver an extremely relevant suite of products and services for this growing market sector,” Robertson said.
