International insurer XL Catlin has appointed
Zurich executive Elina Selin as head of claims for the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions.
In her new role, Selin will lead XL Catlin’s claims teams in 12 countries to maintain and improve the insurer’s reputation in claims management.
David Miller, XL Catlin’s chief regional claims officer, said that Selin has “has exactly the right credentials and management experience” for the role.
“Outstanding claims service is a real differentiator in the insurance industry. We know that to deliver, we need to recruit and retain the best talent,” he said.
EMEA chief executive Ralf Tillenburg also said that Selin’s extensive international experience positions her ideally for the global post.
”EMEA is made up of varied economies, markets and business cultures, our clients are similarly varied, however, they all receive, and rightfully expect, the same high levels of service from us,” he said.
Selin joins from Zurich where she most recently served as claims business partner overseeing the company’s global corporate EMEA claims.
She boasts more than 30 years of experience in various claims management roles across the EMEA region, including Sweden and Switzerland.
