International insurer XL Catlin has recruited
RSA mainstay Toni LePine for a leadership role in its UK and Ireland businesses.
LePine has been appointed to the position of senior underwriter and head of retail accident and health for the UK and Ireland, the company has announced.
She joins from RSA, where she has worked for more than 20 years, most recently as accident and health leader and financial risks manager.
At RSA, Lepine also held numerous top underwriting roles, including personal accident manager and professional indemnity underwriting manager.
Lepine’s experience and technical approach to underwriting make her a “great fit” for the role, according to Patrick Corbett, XL Catlin’s global chief underwriting officer for retail accident and health.
“We are building out our global retail accident and health team because we recognise there is a distinct opportunity to bring something different to the market in terms of coverage and servicing,” Corbett said.
Andrew McMellin, XL Catlin’s chief executive for the UK and Ireland, added that clients are looking for modern coverage designed to protect their staff against today’s risks.
“The breadth of the coverage and quality of the service can be viewed as a key benefit for employees, and companies recognise the role such insurances play in retaining and attracting their own talent, as well as delivering on their duty of care,” McMellin said.
