International broker Willis Towers Watson has appointed Collin Forrest to lead its life insurance team in the UK.

In his new London-based role, Forrest will lead and further develop new strategies to ensure life insurers have access to bespoke products and services that reflect their individual needs.

Willis Towers Watson said it is strengthening its presence and impact across the UK insurance market amid a volatile risk environment worsened by regulatory changes and persistently low interest rates.

“The life insurance landscape is evolving rapidly and I look forward to working with our clients to help them adapt, re-shape their businesses and identify opportunities for profitable growth during these challenging times,” Forrest said.

With more than 25 years of industry experience, Forrest joins from consultancy giant Deloitte, where he most recently was a partner leading the firm’s Swiss actuarial practice in Zurich.

During his five years at Deloitte, Forrest also created and managed the predictive analytics team, providing analytics modelling services across a range of industries.

Forrest also served as a director in the actuarial and insurance management solutions practice at PwC and held various senior roles at Royal Liver and Aegon.

Forrest’s appointment will “enormously” benefit Willis Towers Watson and its clients, according to Claire Farrelly, the broker’s RCS EMEA life sales and practice leader.

“The wealth of knowledge and experience he brings will be a real asset to the UK Life business and his expertise will be vital in providing the business solutions being sought by our clients, which have rapidly evolved in recent years,” Farrelly said.
