Marine liability insurer UK P&I Club has appointed Jeff Lock to the newly created role of global technical claims director.
In his new post, Lock will oversee the technical aspects of the Club’s claims service, as well as major casualty response.
Lock is currently a senior claims director, which is a role that will now be taken by senior claims executive Adam Russ.
“Adam and I are very pleased to be taking on our new roles within the claims division of UK P&I,” Lock said. “We look forward to continue working with the excellent team in place and to continue working with our members across Europe.”
Lock joined UK P&I Club in 2011 after working as a solicitor for a major London maritime law firm for 11 years. He also boasts 18 years of seagoing experience on a wide range of ship types, including oil and petrochemical tankers.

Also a qualified solicitor, Lock joined the insurer in 2012 after heading the legal and insurance department of shipping company Oldendorff. He also previously worked for another P&I Club.
Commenting on the promotions, the UK P&I Club COO Alan Mackinnon said the two executives “have proven to be significant members” of the team.
“Their legal background and expertise, as well as their industry experience make them pivotal assets to UK P&I Club,” Mackinnon said.
