Towergate Insurance has joined the retail broking arm of the world’s largest employee-owned insurance group.
Howden, the retail broking arm of Hyperion, has appointed Tina Jennings as executive director of its UK employee benefits division and global employee benefits practice leader.
Jennings has more than two decades of experience in the healthcare and employee benefits market, including 17 years as managing director of Towergate Health+.
At Howden, Jennings will lead the development of the proposition for the UK business’ national and international clients, seeking to replicate the success that Howden’s employee benefits teams have had in other global markets.
Jennings will be working with Howden’s offices around the world to harmonize the efforts of its global employee benefits practice.
“Tina will coordinate development efforts and share best practice across our operations, using the expertise in the Group to deliver to our international clients and to improve what we do locally,” said Hyperion CEO David Howden.
Howden said Jennings’s extensive experience will help the company attract the best talent in the employee benefits market.
According to Howden, the employee benefits market is an important area of strategic expansion for the company. He noted that the business has made progress in building its capabilities around the world, from Brazil to Indonesia.
“There is significant opportunity to provide our clients with an enhanced Employee Benefits proposition in our enlarged UK business, built on innovative digital platforms,” Howden said.
Jennings echoed Howden’s statement, saying her objectives are “very well aligned” with the company’s vision to build a leading employee benefits proposition for its clients.
“There is a real opportunity to deliver the best and most innovative solutions that will really make a difference to our clients, with the added benefit of an established global client bank and strong international network that already has an impressive EB offering,” Jennings said.
