Probitas 1492, the re/insurance underwriting syndicate at Lloyd’s, has expanded its pricing and analytics team with the appointment of Hamza Khan.
Khan joins Probitas on June 13 as pricing actuary, reporting to chief pricing officer Antony Dodson. He will work with senior analyst and MI manager Durgesh Vyas.
Khan brings to the Lloyd’s syndicate his experience from Vitol, the world’s largest physical crude trader.
He also worked at KPMG Risk Consulting where he was responsible for audits and reserve reviews for Lloyd’s syndicates, large insurers and captives across all lines of business.
His appointment is among the latest changes within the syndicate. Last month, Probitas added
Zurich senior underwriter Ernesto Medina to the financial lines team to strengthen its casualty offering.
Also in May, Probitas appointed
QBE executive Neila Buurman as chief underwriting officer who will head the casualty team. The Lloyd’s syndicate also hired industry veteran Robbie Hubbard to expand its property underwriting team.
In April, Probitas recruited Josh Harding as assistant underwriter within the construction team.
