There is a new man elected to the Council of Lloyd’s, the body responsible for the supervision of the specialist insurance market.
Lloyd’s recently announced that Dominick Hoare, chief underwriting officer (CUO) at
Munich Re Syndicate, was elected unopposed to the position of corporate-external member of the council earlier this week.
Representing Munich Re Capital, Hoare will occupy the seat previously held by Catlin Syndicate Limited’s Paul Jardine, whose term expired on January 31.
Since 2015, Hoare has been the CUO of Munich Re Syndicate Ltd, having previously served as the joint active underwriter. He is also an executive director at Munich Re Speciality Group, Munich Re Syndicate and Munich Re Capital.
Hoare started working in the Lloyd’s market in 1985 as a graduate trainee with the Willis Group. He is a past chairman of both the joint rig committee and the energy committee of the International Union of Marine Insurers.
Hoare has also served on the board of the Lloyd’s Market Association and in the executive committee of the International Union of Marine Insurers.
