Almost 600 new jobs could be created after financial services and insurance firm MotoNovo confirmed plans to move to new headquarters beginning from December.
The insurance and car finance company will create 580 new jobs as part of an investment expected to take its workforce to more than 1,000. A report by
Wales Online states that the South Africa-based business, which currently has an office in the Llanishen part of the Welsh capital, will now move to 1 Central Square in the centre of Cardiff. Its office will cover five floors across 71,000sq ft.
The new offices are part of a wider regeneration of the area immediately in front of Cardiff Central Train Station. Other major developments in the area include new 150,000sq ft headquarters for BBC Cymru Wales; with other tenants including NatWest Bank and law firm Blake Morgan.
The scheme has also received backing from another major insurer – Legal & General has reportedly made a £400 million investment into the scheme.
