Specialist broker Morton Michel has selected insurer
ARAG to supply commercial legal protection and advice to more than 40,000 childcare organisations and professionals.
The cover includes protection from the costs of problems like employment disputes and debt recovery, along with ARAG’s legal advice helpline and online legal document building tools.
Matt Warren, ARAG broker business manager, said the cover also provides representation throughout a regulatory investigation by the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills and for any subsequent hearing.
The insurer’s crisis communications service also provides professional advice in the event that an insured business is the subject of negative media attention.
“This is obviously a really significant win for us,” said ARAG broker business manager Matt Warren.
“We have worked hard to create packages that really match the needs of the different sorts of business that Morton Michel has as clients,” he added.
Childcare organisations and professionals that will be covered by ARAG include self-employed nannies, childminders, nurseries and after-school clubs.
“Legal cover is inevitably very important to many of our clients,” said Morton Michel schemes director Sue Lee.
He continued: “Whether it’s a large nursery looking to protect itself from potential employment disputes or a self-employed childminder looking to recover unpaid fees or concerned about the threat of a tax investigation, ARAG has built products that our clients will find both reassuring and useful.”
