Marsh has appointed a new chief client officer for the UK & Ireland, it was announced today.
Ailsa King will join the broker’s executive committee in her new role, and will also become a director of Marsh Ltd, subject to regulatory approval.
King, who joins Marsh from Willis Towers Watson after 25 years with the company, will work across Marsh’s operations to “leverage the firm’s resources and lead the development of strategic solutions that will assist clients in mitigating the insurance and risk management challenges they face,” the company said.
King will also work closely with executives across Marsh & McLennan’s operating companies,
Guy Carpenter,
Mercer, and Oliver Wyman, on key client initiatives.
Mark Weil, CEO of Marsh UK & Ireland, said the company was “delighted” to welcome King, describing her as a “recognized industry leader”.
“Ailsa’s significant industry experience and deep client relationships will ensure that our clients will continue to be at the centre of our strategic efforts and that their views will be represented at the highest level within our firm,” he added.
During her career at Willis Towers Watson, King held numerous senior leadership positions, most recently serving as head of UK client and business development.
Previous roles included being the leader of the risk solutions client segment in the UK, and client advocate for the retail and leisure and hospitality industries.
King is expected to commence her new role in the second quarter of 2017, and will report into Weil.
