Specialist insurer Markel has launched a new liability product for the technology and communications sectors in the UK.
Markel’s new technology and communications policy combines public and products liability and cyber coverage with the mandatory professional liability section.
The insurer said there is a demand for a “dynamic” insurance product for the technology and communications sectors amid their rapid growth and challenging risks.
“We listened to broker feedback and, as a result, created an accessible product for freelancers and general technology and communications businesses that are time-pressed and need a simple solution,” said Liam Greene, technical line manager, professional and management risks at Markel UK.
“At the same time it was important to recognise the more niche or specialist companies that require bespoke underwriting and risk management,” he added.
Greene said their new product meets the various needs of the technology and communications sectors.
The new product includes a debt recovery helpline provided by specialist solicitors Triton Global, which offers policyholders free advice on litigation.
