MAI CEE has appointed former
Marsh senior client executive Petr Antošík as employee benefits broker.
As part of what it calls “a major push into domestic markets,” the independent insurance broker is beefing up its workforce by 12.5% – Antošík’s appointment being the first in a series. With offices and partners in every country of Central and Eastern Europe, MAI currently employs 200 people and provides western-European standard, risk-based employee benefits cover.
At Marsh, Antošík was responsible for generating new business, as well as maintaining relationships with key insurers and clients. He also worked at
Mercer where he led the employee benefits practice in the Czech Republic, and at Amcico
AIG Life where he served as corporate solutions business director.
“We are hiring 25 experienced professionals to expand our presence in domestic markets, and looking to engage broker teams,” said MAI chief executive Jan Stok. “Petr joins MAI to help capitalise on the opportunities created by the rapidly changing employee benefits market.”
Stok explained: “Falling unemployment in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and Poland is creating competition for labour, and employee benefits programmes helping employers attract the best candidates.”
He said Antošík is well known and respected in the Czech Republic and will help expand MAI’s employee benefits capabilities there, “as part of the wider push into Russia, Poland, Romania, Hungary, Ukraine, and beyond.”
MAI is also present in the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Caucuses regions.
