LV= Broker has added Nigel Johnstone and Ben McDermott to its South West office to strengthen the insurance firm’s relationships with brokers.
Appointed as broker development manager, Johnstone will look at ways to forge closer ties with local brokers.
McDermott, meanwhile, joins as senior trader and will develop LV= Broker’s commercial account, focusing on commercial combined and property owners. He will also help launch the company’s mid-market proposition to brokers in the region.
“The vast experience and knowledge that Nigel and Ben have between them will really help us keep our finger on the pulse of brokers in the South West,” said LV= Broker commercial director Euros Jones.
“We have ambitious goals to be the best insurer for regional independent brokers,” Jones added. “These appointments demonstrate the importance of having local experts for insurance brokers to deal with, making it even easier for them to do business with us.”
Boasting over 23 years of industry experience, Johnstone comes from
Arista, where he held a regional broker development role. On the other hand, McDermott joins LV= after holding senior underwriting roles in the region, including at
RSA and NIG.
