The former chairman and director of the mutual insurer set up by the industry and the UK government has joined the managing agency of Lloyd’s insurer ArgoGlobal.
The company has appointed Tony Latham as a non-executive director of the Board of Argo Managing Agency, effective April 27.
With Latham’s hiring, ArgoGlobal continues to develop and broaden its expertise amid a challenging market environment, said Argo Managing Agency chairman John Spencer.
“Tony is a recognised industry figure who brings an exceptional track record and breadth of hugely relevant insurance experience,”Spencer said.
Latham brings more than 40 years insurance experience to the ArgoGlobal board, having held several board positions across the industry.
Earlier this month, he retired as chairman of Pool Re, a position he held for more than 12 years after serving as its director for more than 20 years.
He started his career with
Sedgwick and later joined
RSA Group where he served as a member of the group executive for over 17 years. He also held a number of senior executive roles including managing director of the global risks division.
Latham also held directorial positions at Flagstone Re, Airclaims and British Aviation Insurance. He still serves on the boards of Codan A/S and
Ecclesiastical.
