The Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA) has shaken up its worldwide property business panel with the appointment of a new chairman and members.

The trade body has appointed Nick Jones as chairman of the panel, which leads on a wide range of issues affecting Lloyd’s managing agents and syndicates on behalf of the Lloyd’s market.

Jones, an active underwriter at Apollo Syndicate Management Limited, replaces outgoing chair Mark Bodkin of specialist insurer Beazley.

“I look forward to progressing the aims of the panel for the benefit of the property underwriting market at Lloyd’s,” Jones said.

The LMA has likewise elected Toby Sawyer of Aegis, Jonathan Marshall of Axis and Andrew Middleton of HCC to the panel, which will also include re-elected members Mark Bodkin of Beazley and Cathedral Underwriting’s Richard Wood. All will serve the panel for a three year term.

According to the LMA, an area of focus for the panel this year is to ensure that the Placing Platform Limited – the London market’s electronic placing platform solution – provides efficiencies to the underwriting process.

The LMA panel will also continue to monitor evolving exposures in the property market and increase interaction with the Lloyd’s Corporation.
