Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM) has appointed industry veteran Kerry McKay to the newly-created role of head of distribution and client management for continental Europe.
McKay is expected to take up his new role this summer, reporting directly to Kadidja Sinz, head of Europe at LSM, which is part of
Liberty Mutual Insurance Group.
McKay joins LSM as it seeks to expand its operations as a specialist insurer across Europe, providing a broad range of services and products through its six branch offices on the continent.
“His considerable experience in building great partnerships with brokers as well as understanding the needs of clients in an evolving market will be of real benefit to us,” Sinz said.
Matthew Moore, LSM group chief underwriting officer, added: “We have ambitious plans for our operations in Europe and Kerry’s experience will contribute greatly towards their achievement.”
McKay boasts a 27-year insurance career and has major distribution experience. He has also developed and enhanced broker relationships across Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific.
Most recently, he held a global role as head of central broker management for insurer XL Catlin, where he worked for the past five years.
McKay also previously worked for brokers Jardine Lloyd Thompson Specialty and
Marsh in London, with roles in risk consulting, multi-national client management, placement and project management.
