Insurance law firm DWF has launched a counter fraud team in Scotland amid a continued increase in personal injury claims.
The legal firm appointed Jill Sinclair as head of the new unit, which will work within DWF’s national counter fraud team led by Lorraine Carolan.
“The counter fraud team in Scotland enables us to expand our fraud capability and strengthen relationships with clients,” Carolan said.
“Our counter fraud offering is enhanced and benefiting our growing national and international insurer client base, across our Scottish book of business together with our clients in the commercial sector,” she added.
According to DWF, there has been a 16.6% increase in injury claims in Scotland over the past four years. On average, there are now 7,419 more claims a year or 20 new claims a day in Scotland.
“DWF is leading the way in the insurance sector assisted by market leading profiling intelligence that delivers real value to the firm’s clients,” Sinclair said.
“I’m looking forward to leading the counter fraud team north of the border, and further building our capability to protect clients at risk of fraudulent activity.”
Sinclair has 10 years of experience in the industry. She has been involved in civil litigation, specialising in high-value personal injury and motor insurance claims.
